Founded in 1959, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Goddard Space Flight Center was NASA's first major laboratory devoted entirely to the exploration of space. Among other things, the center is the focal point for all flight operations and engineering activities related to the Hubble Space Telescope, an engineering marvel devoted to astronomical research. The Visitor's Center contains spacecraft, flight articles and displays dealing with the national space program. |
